BECAUSE I DO WHAT I WANT.
I didn’t give in-depth reasoning for all of these because how do I words. Will you just accept my word that I had reasons for choosing who I did? @__@
Okay, without further ado…
Natasha Kaye Johnson as Korra
If you’ve never heard of her, it’s no surprise, as she doesn’t have many film credits to her name. Just one, actually: ‘Turquoise Rose.’ If you can get a hold of that movie, I highly recommend watching it, it’s a wonderful film, and Johnson is just fantastic. And something like this would be a fantastic opportunity for an unknown actress, so there’s that.
* * *
Edison Chen as Mako
Look at all that angst.
* * *
Telly Leung as Bolin
I saw Isaia suggest this guy for Bolin, and I was blinded by all of the yes I felt. HE LOOKS LIKE SUCH A PRECIOUS BABY ASDFGHJKJHGFDS
* * *
Arden Cho as Asami Sato
I saw this in another fancast, and I see no reason to argue with perfection. You gotta deal with it.
* * *
Saif Ali Khan as Amon
I almost put Naveen Andrews down for Amon, but ultimately decided he fit better with the smooth-talking Tarrlok. Which, of course, left me floundering as to who Amon could be. This one took me a while, sheesh.
I chose this picture to shamelessly appeal to the fangirls.* * *
Koji Yakusho as Tenzin
Okay, I know it’s reeeeeeally hard to picture it without the facial hair, but just….trust me, I photoshopped this shit. I’m from the internet, I know what I’m doing. Trust me.
* * *
Michelle Yeoh as Lin Beifong
You saw this one coming. DON’T LIE, YOU KNOW YOU DID.
Yeoh plays a very good badass middle-aged lady (you probably know her from ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’), and okay, maybe this is typecasting, but it’s my fancasting so I do what I want.
* * *
Naveen Andrews as Councilman Tarrlok
C’mon guys, let’s be real here. I think we all know who the only man who could rock three ponytails is. And I’m lookin’ at him right now.
Fangirls, I tried to find a picture of him clean-shaven for better comparison, but then I started thinking, could Tarrlok rock the facial hair? I think Tarrlok could rock the facial hair.* * *
Jang Keun-suk as Tahno
Another one I
stolesaw on someone else’s fancast and thought was perfect. I haven’t actually seen him in anything, but looks-wise, I accept no alternatives.* * *
Michaela Conlin as Pema
Okay, so this MIGHT be a little bit of personal wish-fulfillment, because I love Michaela Conlin. >_>
You probably know her as Angela Montenegro from the TV show ‘Bones.’ Idk, I feel like she just FITS with Pema’s spunk.
* * *
Chow Yun-fat as Hiroshi Sato
Can we talk about the mustache okay.
Seriously tho.
Seriously tho.
* * *
And of course, we mustn’t forget…
PABU.

Mike, Joaquim, Steve Blum (Amon), and I just finished up an awesome round of Book 1 DVD commentary.
Fandom: Legend of Korra
Summary: Amon may have taken her bending, but that only meant that Lin had nothing left to lose.
Notes: I will destroy all your feelings.
Hey remember this

Thar we go…..
I don’t know why I did this since I the original verison has a huge background which was actually the focus of the drawing..But Amon being Amon…he just has to go steal the lime light
What am I even talking about

Socially inappropriate Korra…
I could have easily imaged this being canon…Korra isn’t exactly the most sensitive person…XD

Korra : D Thank you to everyone who bought the print ^^

What could be more powerful than that?
“The era of bending is over.”—AMON, 170 ASC
The first person to have their bending publicly removed was the man in the most comparable position to Yakone. I don’t think it’s a coincidence Amon targetted a mafia head to introduce himself as a powerful threat. Maybe it was the closest thing to showing his father that he’d become stronger than he had ever been by learning how to remove bending. Also it was through Yakone that Noatak saw the very worst in bending and so making his debut by attacking the legacy his father left and wanted him to avenge seems particularly fitting.
Parallels:
Yakone and Zolt were both powerful men in their underground crime rings
- “Yakone has ruled Republic City’s criminal empire for years yet he has always managed to stay out of the law’s reach until now”
The lawyer, Episode 09 Out of the Past (12:04)
- “Please welcome Lightning Bolt Zolt, leader of the Triple Threat Triad and one of the most notorious criminals in Republic City”
Amon, Episode 03 The Revelation
Younger Noatak is adamant of his father’s weakness and that the ability to remove bending is the most powerful technique and one he desires
- “The Avatar took away your bending. What could be more powerful than that?”
Noatak, Episode 11 Skeletons in the Closet
- Zolt’s bending removedRequested by withoutahat
